Sommelier / Restaurant Supervisor

Senses is a dynamic and intimate fine dining restaurant located in the heart of Amsterdam, featuring an open kitchen where culinary art is created every day. As a proud member of JRE-Jeunes Restaurateurs, Senses is recognized as one of the top fine dining restaurants in the Netherlands.

We are looking for a Sommelier / Restaurant Supervisor who not only guides our guests on an unforgettable food and wine journey but also plays a key role in leading our hospitality team.

DAILY Responsibilities:

As Sommelier / Restaurant Supervisor, you ensure that every guest leaves with a truly memorable experience. You combine your wine expertise with strong leadership skills, helping to elevate both our team and the guest experience at Senses.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Creating, managing, and presenting the wine list and wine pairings that complement our seasonal menu.
  • Advising and informing guests about wines, and providing exceptional wine service.
  • Supervising, coaching, and inspiring the service team; leading by example in hospitality.
  • Assisting with staff scheduling and coordinating the daily operations.
  • Working hands-on as host/hostess: welcoming guests and ensuring top-level service.
  • Collaborating closely with the Chef and management team to evaluate and continuously improve quality and guest experience.

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fine dining restaurant.
  • Certified Sommelier (e.g. SWEN3) with a true passion for gastronomy.
  • Experience in a supervisory or coordinating role within hospitality.
  • Fluent in Dutch or English (spoken and written).
  • Living in or near the Amsterdam area.
  • A positive, energetic personality who thrives in hospitality and motivates others.
